NBA Birthdays: Celebrating Players Born on Halloween, October 31st

Below are the most notable NBA players born on Oct. 31. 

John Lucas (1953):

Lucas was the top pick in the 1976 NBA Draft and had a 14-year NBA career. He was selected by the Houston Rockets and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting in his debut season. He only spent two years with the Rockets after being traded Golden State for Rick Barry in 1978. He averaged 16.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 9.3 assists and 1.9 steals in his first year with the Warriors. He spent time with the Washington Bullets, San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Seattle SuperSonics and another stint with the Rockets before retiring in 1990. He played for six franchises in total, averaging 10.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 1.4 steals throughout his career. 

Antonio Davis (1968):

Davis was a valuable post player and rim protector throughout his 16-year career. Selected 45th overall in the 1990 NBA Draft, Davis didn’t make his NBA debut until 1993 after finishing up his contract overseas. He made an immediate impact as a paint presence, averaging 10 points and 7.5 rebounds per game throughout his career. His best season was in 2000 when he played for the Toronto Raptors, averaging 13.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks en route to his first and only NBA All-Star appearance. He played six seasons in Indiana and Toronto before closing out his career in Chicago and New York.
